Cottonwood County will be doing a bridge replacement project over the Des Moines River that includes removing the existing structure (Bridge No. 5990) and constructing a new bridge (Bridge No. 17540). Work also includes approach grading and roadway preparation, full-depth reclamation, placement of new bituminous surfacing, and all required traffic control (including detour/work zone control) plus erosion and sediment control to complete the bridge and roadway improvements.
